Last year’s "Invasion!" crossover proved to be a massive success for The CW's Arrowverse, propelling Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl to season-high ratings, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow to a series record. However, while "Invasion!" was a narrative very much driven by action, this year's crossover will feature more of the emotional beats that the network is known for, with Kara and Alex Danvers standing center stage.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg explained how, in contrast to last year, the Girl of Steel won't be the only resident of National City to play an integral role in the four-part story.

"Kara and Alex are at the center of it through all four hours," he said. "One of the things we’ve been doing a lot this season is getting back to Season 1 and really making it Danvers sisters-centric, so a lot of what’s going on this season is Kara and Alex doing things in tandem, and the crossover won’t be any different."

Putting the Danvers sisters at the heart of the event certainly seems to fall in line with an earlier report that the fall crossover will have a much more personal feel than "Invasion!" Last month, CW President Mark Pedowitz said that “Romance [would be] in the air,” and The Flash executive producer Greg Berlanti added, "Our way of making the show bigger this year was to go even more personal, so it’s a big life event for a few different people on the show… There are many life events that happen."

This year’s Arrowverse crossover will begin Monday, Nov. 27, with back-to-back episodes of Supergirl and Arrow, followed Tuesday, Nov. 28, by The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. The event sees Arrow move from its new Thursday time slot to Monday for one week only.
