Although he seemingly died at the end of Supergirl Season 4, Lex Luthor will soon return to the Arrowverse.

Actor Jon Cryer, who played Lex on the show, took the stage during the Supergirl panel at the convention. "The character I played died, which is really sad, because I don't know if you know anything about comics, but if a character is dead, they're dead," Cryer joked.

Executive producer Robert Rovner then confirmed Cryer's return, satying, "Lex Luthor is coming back. We're excited to have you back. Hopefully you can stick around."

In Season 4, Lex is killed when Lena Luthor extracts the Harun-El usd to give him superpowers from his system. As he dies, he reveals that Kara Danvers is actually Supergirl to Lena. The end of the season saw The Monitor visiting Lex's body, intending to use it for some unrevealed purpose. It's not clear at this time how Luthor will return, though it seems likely it will have something to do with the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover event.

First appearing in 1940s, Lex Luthor was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. He's one of Superman's most notorious and deadly villains and has appeared in various comics, films and video games starring the Man of Steel and other superheroes.
