Andy Muschietti recently posted a video to his Instagram, featuring the moment when Sasha Calle learned she would be playing Supergirl in The Flash.

"Been doing a lot of flashbacks lately but today is about a Flash forward," Muschietti wrote. The video features Muschietti participating in a Zoom call with Calle, asking her if she could fly. When Calle asked him why he said that, Muschietti pulled out a costume similar to Henry Cavill's from Man of Steel and told her "You're Supergirl" while the classic John Williams theme from Richard Donner's Superman films played. Calle was ecstatic at the news, saying "I'm probably not going to stop crying all day."

Calle earned the role from among a large pool of actors, and even conducted a chemistry test via Zoom with lead Ezra Miller. Muschietti previously explained that there were more than four hundred auditions with actors from all across the globe.

Details about Calle's version of Supergirl remain scarce at this point. The Flash is expected to see Barry Allen travel throughout the multiverse, encountering multiple versions of DC heroes including Michael Keaton's Batman.

Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script by Christina Hodson, The Flash stars Ezra Miller, Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, Sasha Calle and Billy Crudup. The film arrives in theaters Nov. 4, 2022.
