In "In Plain Sight," the next episode of Supergirl, Brainiac-5 will face his biggest hurdle yet: he must ask for help.

The clip picks up as Brainy struggles with a piece of machinery. As he tinkers, Lena Luthor approaches him with a clear assessment: "Look, Brainy, I know you haven't asked for help but you're getting it anyway."

"No," Brainy insisted. "I need my mind consumed with this problem so I don't think of Nia." Nia, of course, had broken up with him only the episode prior.

In response, Lena asked about his "little boxes," referring to her advice to him from last year. At the time, she told him to compartmentalize his feelings, imagining them as hidden away in little boxes. However, he feels this advice is what ruined his relationship with Nia.

She came back at him as a scientist rather than a friend. She told him he was stuck in an infinite loop, and that asking for help may be exactly what he needed to add a new variable. However, judging by his reaction, this was extremely difficult to do for him. With halting words, he asked her to help him.

"Yes," she replied with a smile, only to add, "And I think a small dose of that would go a long way with Nia." With that, the two set to work on the device, with Brainy grimacing all the while.
