"Supergirl" Cast & Crew Explain How Kara is a Different Kind of Hero in New Video

In a new video for CBS' "Supergirl," Melissa Benoist (Kara Zor-El), Calista Flockhart (Cat Grant), Jeremy Jordan (Winn Schott), Andrew Kreisberg (executive producer) and Ali Adler (executive producer) discuss what sets Supergirl apart from other superheroes, including her famous cousin Superman.

"She just wants to badly to spread good in the world," Benoist explained. "I think that's the really beautiful thing about her, because she lost so much, that she wants to do more for this planet that she lives on now."

"It's a lot about recognizing your strength and your potential and letting yourself be surprised about what's inside of you," she added.

The show centers on Kara Zor-El, a Kryptonian stranded on Earth following the destruction of her home planet Krypton. Assuming the name Kara Danvers, she decides to come out of hiding at the age of 24 and really use her super abilities for good.

"Supergirl" arrives on CBS on October 26 at 8:30 p.m. EST. Developed by producers Greg Berlanti, Adler and Kreisberg, the series stars Benoist, Calista Flockhart, David Harewood and Chyler Leigh.
