SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for “Trinity,” the latest episode of Supergirl.
Alex Danvers has ditched her DEO polo for a real superhero costume. In "Trinity," the latest episode of Supergirl, Winn gave Alex a costume of her very own, with a few notable upgrades.
Unlike her DEO uniform, Alex's new look seems more like a bodysuit, more in the vein of Mon-El's costume. Her outfit comes complete with reinforced padding for the chest and shoulders as well as gloves, holsters and combat boots.
Since Winn is a tech guy, it should come as no surprise the costume he designed for Alex comes with some serious upgrades. For one, the gloves are magnetic. This means she can retrieve her weapon if it gets knocked out of her hand, just as she does in the episode. The costume's padding also provides an extra level of shielding like body armor, which enabled her to go toe-to-toe with the Kryptonian Worldkillers.
Winn also gave Alex a new weapon with an extra kick. The gun she holds in the photo above is designed with Kryptonians in mind, as it seems to release a red sun blast. Since a red sun can negate a Kryptonian's powers, this left the Worldkillers vulnerable, so that Alex could get a hit in and do some real damage.
Airing Mondays at 8 p.m. on The CW, Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as the Girl of Steel, David Harewood as Martian Manhunter, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers and Jeremy Jordan as Winn Schott, with appearances by Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant and Tyler Hoechlin as Superman.
