Riverdale is borrowing another CW actor for its upcoming fourth season. Sam Witwer, who starred as Agent Liberty on The CW's Supergirl, is joining the cast of Riverdale in the recurring role of Mr. Chipping.

ComicBook.com describes Witwer's role as "a prep school lecturer with his eye on Jughead Jones." The storyline will see Jughead visiting Mr. Chipping's rival school.

The official character description of Witwer's Mr. Chipping reads,

Handsome, bookish and cool, Mr. Chipping teaches creative writing at a prestigious prep school near Riverdale. He recruits Jughead for his seminar, and while he's eminently inspiring to his students, there's a darkness hidden far beneath the surface…

Supergirl and Riverdale aren't Witwer's first comic book roles. He appeared on Smallville as Davis Bloome, aka Doomsday, in Season 8. His other roles include Once Upon a TimeBeing Human and a voice role as Darth Maul in Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Returning to The CW on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. EST, Riverdale stars KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, Madelaine Petsch, Casey Cott, Mark Consuelos, Skeet Ulrich, Marisol Nichols and Madchen Amick.
