Lena Luthor has arrived in National City and she's ready for a hostile takeover. Following news that The CW's "Supergirl" was looking to cast Lex Luthor's kid sister, "Merlin" star Katie McGrath has landed the role.

According to TVLine, the character is described as follows:

Beautiful, powerful, and enigmatic, Lena arrives in National City on the heels of brother Lex's incarceration hoping for a fresh start. Lena has taken over as LenaLuthorCEO of her family's billion-dollar-tech company, Luthor Corp, which has been tarnished by Lex's evil infamy. Her goal? To re-brand the empire as a force for good. Lena wants to be seen as her own person, separate from her brother. Kara is drawn into Lena's sphere and must determine if she is friend or foe.

McGrath will have a recurring role as Lena Luthor. She joins newcomers Floriana Lima (Maggie Sawyer) and Ian Gomez (Snapper Carr). In addition to "Merlin," she has also appeared in "Jurassic World" and the "Slasher."

The second season of "Supergirl" is scheduled to premiere on Monday, October 10 at 8 pm EST on The CW, switching networks after a first season on CBS.
