While the WTF Certified label may have been dropped from this month's DC Comics gatefold covers, the full images have nonetheless been surprising, and none more so than "Superboy" #19, which teases the secret origin of the Boy of Steel. The full cover, discovered by CBR forumite stephens2177, reveals the duo that contributed the Super-clone's genetic makeup. Superman and Lois Lane may not be an item in the New 52, but their lives are tied perhaps even tighter than the bonds of matrimony alone could do with the apparent reveal that Superboy is a clone created through a combination of both of their DNA.

Pre-"Flashpoint," Superboy was also a clone comprised of both human and Kryptonian DNA. While Superman was still the Kryptonian half of the equation, the human donor was Lex Luthor, a fact that came to light during Geoff Johns' run on "Teen Titans." Johns would later revisit the dichotomy of the character's origin in his run on "Adventure Comics" with artist Francis Manapul.

Another point of interest is the issue's credits -- "Superboy" #19 was originally solicited to be written by Tom DeFalco with art by R.B. Silva and Rob Lean. However, the cover credits original New 52 "Superboy" writer Scott Lobdell, R.B. Silva and current "Demon Knights" artist Diogenes Neves with creative duties. This is likely the opportunity Lobdell referred to during a recent CBR interview about his work on "Superman."

"I miss the big lug," Lobdell told CBR in response to a question about getting his hands back on the character for the recent "H'el On Earth" arc. "But it hasn't been my only opportunity of late to write him."
