DC FanDome 2021 saw the announcement of Battle of the Super Sons, which marks the first CG-animated film based on a DC property.

The brief announcement featured few details, but fans can look forward to the CG film arriving some time in 2022. The film is presumably based on the titular Super Sons-- Superboy and Robin, possibly the iteration featuring the sons of Clark Kent and Lois Lane and Bruce Wayne and Talia Al Ghul, respectively.

The original iteration of the Super Sons debuted in 1965 in World's Finest Comics #154 (written by Edmond Hamilton and illustrated by Curt Swan and Sheldon Moldoff). They were originally college-aged superheroes named Superman Jr. and Batman Jr., who were Clark Kent Jr. and Bruce Wayne Jr., respectively. They were reimagined in 2017 as Jonathan Kent and Damian Wayne, both of which were established in separate comics.

The duo received a comics book series of their own, which ran for 16 issues and an annual special. It was followed by the Adventures of the Super Sons miniseries, written by Peter Tomasi and illustrated by Carlo Barberi, was comprised of 12 issues and explored the two growing heroes' chaotic partnership.
