Super Sons may have been cancelled, but Superboy and Robin will return with an all-new adventure later this summer.

DC Comic's Director of Publicity Michael Shelling announced on Twitter that Peter Tomasi will be writing a 12-issue max-series called Adventures of the Super Sons. The first issue will seemingly hit stands on August 1. Nothing has been announced yet as to who will provide the art for the book. Though Jorge Jimenez helped launch the book back in February, he has since been assigned to the forthcoming Justice League book alongside Scott Snyder and Jim Cheung.

Spinning out of Tomasi and Patrick Gleason's run on Superman, the Super Sons series starred Jon Kent and Damian Wayne. Despite the title's popularity, DC will end the book with issue #16. While Robin will go on to lead a new iteration of the Teen Titans, it was clear that the duo wouldn't be separated for long.

When news of the main title's cancellation broke, Super Sons/Dynomutt Special #1 was concurrently announced. This special will be released on May 30 by Tomasi, Fernando Pasarin, and Oclair Albert, which will see Superboy and Robin run into the Hanna-Barbera's Blue Falcon and Dynomutt. DC Comics will also publish a Super Sons graphic novel by Ridley Pearson as part of the new DC Zoom imprint for young readers.
