With the final character in Super Smash Bros Ultimate being Sora from Kingdom Hearts, the major updates to the game's content come to an end. Plenty of fans are satisfied with the final roster of the game capping off at eighty-nine total characters.

One fact that fans have been slowly accepting is that if there is another Super Smash Bros game after Ultimate, that the roster is likely to be trimmed down due to many issues with factors like licensing. But that aside, there are some characters that many players of Ultimate wouldn't miss in the slightest if they didn't return.

10 Min Min's Gimmick Is Underwhelming

Wouldn't Miss Min Min for Smash Article

Most new and unique fighters that make it into the game all come with their unique gimmick, tying into the game they're from. Min Min is no different from the others in this area.

But while her gimmick is true to ARMS, it's still underwhelming when compared to the characters that preceded and followed after her. With no talks or rumors of an ARMS sequel in the making, her not returning to the series wouldn't come with as much outrage.

9 Dark Samus Was Better Off As An Alternate Samus Costume

Dark Samus for wouldn't miss article

The Metroid franchise saw some love in Super Smash Bros Ultimate with the addition of two additional fighters from the franchise. The fighters in question are the heavily requested Ridley, and the surprise addition of Dark Samus. However, between the two fighters, it is clear that Dark Samus was more of an after-thought than Ridley was.

Dark Samus's move set doesn't bring anything new to the table when compared to Samus's and the only real differences come in aesthetics. Apart from the lackluster moves, the Metroid Series can see some better representation with Raven Beak from Metroid Dread.

8 Daisy Doesn't Add Much Other Than Her Voice Lines

The second echo fighter on this list also doesn't contribute enough to warrant the slot she takes up. Apart from the aesthetic differences visual, Daisy also comes with her louder voice lines. While this princess of Sarasaland was a somewhat fan-requested character, the preference would likely have been for her to be given a unique set of moves.

This character is the same case as Dark Samus, being another fighter who started as a skin for another character. But this time she's a character with her own slot and nothing else to offer.

7 R.O.B. Reminds Gamers Of A Useless Peripheral

ROB For Wouldn't Miss Article

The inclusion of R.O.B. in Super Smash Bros. Brawl was a surprising one to many fans of the series. This character is a nod to an NES peripheral that worked for all of the two games. Where this character truly falls short is his lack of notoriety. If it weren't for his appearance in this series, fans might have completely, if not mostly forgotten about R.O.B.

But regardless, if there's a choice between bringing R.O.B. back into the series or adding a new character, fans would probably prefer something new to something old.

6 The Inclusion of Chrom Wasn't All It Was Hyped Up To Be

Chrom for Smash Bros Wouldn't Miss Article

Chrom's inclusion in the series as a proper fighter was first teased in Lucina and Robin's reveal trailer for Super Smash Bros. For Wii U/3DS with a simple throwaway line about next time being his chance. He did end up getting that chance in Ultimate, but as an echo fighter for Roy. It seems that being an echo fighter runs in the family.

But while Lucina was greeted with fanfare and her own part in Robin's reveal trailer, Chrom was only mentioned on the side of another set of reveals for Ultimate. When Chrom was finally in the game, not much talk of it came since, especially since most players do feel the fatigue from the overwhelming selection of Fire Emblem fighters on the roster.

5 Corrin's Initial Reveal Didn't Get Much Fanfare

Corrin for Smash Bros Wouldn't Miss Article

Corrin was a Fire Emblem character that no one asked for, and seemingly killed the hype when they were added into Super Smash Bros For WiiU/3DS as the penultimate fighter. Cloud from Final Fantasy VII was a tough act to follow, but to follow him with a Fire Emblem character felt like the worst possible choice.

Thankfully, that game's selection of fighters was able to conclude on a strong note with Bayonetta. But apart from Corrin nearly killing the hype for the game they were revealed in, they really don't bring much to the table apart from some dragon transformation attacks and yet another counterattack. Counters seem to be a popular thing to add to Fire Emblem fighters, with Byleth being the only fighter to break that trend.

4 Punch-Out Has Better Characters To Represent It Than Little Mac

Little Mac for Smash Bros Wouldn't Miss Article

Little Mac is one of the blandest characters in the Punch-Out games, meant to be more of a stand-in for the player than anything. Most of the personality comes from his coach, Doc Louis who offers his funny banter and praise for Little Mac when he taunts and wins a fight. Punch-Out's cast of characters is more dynamic and has a lot more personality than Little Mac does.

A character that would be more fun to play than Little Mac would probably be the likes of Super Macho Man with his larger-than-life personality.

3 Piranha Plant Left Many Players Scratching Their Heads

Piranha Plant for Smash Bros Wouldn't Miss Article

This character is yet another one that the players and fans didn't ask for, but got anyway. Piranha Plant is a character many fans feel like was added as some sort of joke, especially given how the Super Mario series has plenty of other characters fans have been requesting more like Geno from Super Mario RPG, Waluigi, and Paper Mario.

The inclusion of Piranha Plant was more confusing than anything, and the way it plays is certainly more unique than a lot of fighters on the roster. But as joke characters go, no one would be that upset to find out Piranha Plant didn't make the cut for the next game.

2 Incineroar Is Just Another Fire-Type Starter Pokemon

Incineroar for wouldn't Miss Smash Article

When fans talk about Pokemon they want in the game, they'll talk about Legendaries and varied up starters like Decidueye or Rillaboom. What no one expected was Incineroar's addition to the game. This Pokemon did offer a unique wrestler-style play style to the game, but plenty of fans were disappointed with this new Pokemon choice.

RELATED: Pokemon: 10 Creatures That Should Be Pseudo-Legendaries

One of the reasons for the animosity towards this Pokemon is the fact that another fan-favorite starter, Decidueye was also being considered for this slot, but it was given to Incineroar instead. Regardless, given how many Pokemon there are, it wouldn't be disappointing if a starter from Sword/Shield was chosen to be a new Pokemon representative, over a returning Incineroar.

1 Dr. Mario's Return Reminds Everyone Why Regular Mario Is Better

Dr. Mario throwing a pill in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Dr. Mario's return is a case of fans letting nostalgia cloud their better judgment. What happens when Mario decides to put down the plunger and earn his Ph.D.? Well, he fights viruses in an addictive puzzle game, but he also loses a lot of his jumping skills in favor of higher attack power.

Where this character truly falls short is in his recovery abilities, players would think, as Mario, they'd be able to recover at a reasonable range from the stage. That isn't the case at all, as Dr. Mario's recovery is just about as terrible as Little Mac's recovery. If this doctor didn't return, no one would be too upset given how easy it is to defeat him.
