While it was known that Super Mario 3D All-Stars' time would end in March 2021, fans still took it to heart when the game left the Nintendo eShop.Super Mario fans been flooding social media to mourn their favorite plumber. "Super Mario 3d Allstars is officially DEAD on the JAPANESE ESHOP," Twitter user Mr. Japan wrote. "This here says ' not for sale ' RIP."RELATED: Super Mario Maker 2 Is Functionally Done, But It Left a Ton of Potential on the Table[EMBED_TWITTER]https://twitter.com/YLaylee/status/1377290574932242441[/EMBED_TWITTER]After the user confirmed Mario was "dead," others took the time to send their condolences. One user told Mario, "It's been a nice ride," while another shared a video paying tribute to the fallen plumber.

While some paid tribute to Mario, others choose to send their condolences to Luigi and offer him a shoulder to lean on. Twitter user Akfamilyhome took a breath before writing, "Hello, I'm Luigi and I'm here today to tell you all about planned obsolescence." Another one took a moment to eulogize Mario while mentioning his brother.

Some went as far as to plan the "departed" plumber's funeral. One user eulogized Mario, writing, "We are all here today to mourn the death of Mario Mario," while another user put up a video of Mario's funeral program.  One user simply wrote, "RIP Mario" with the "Game Over" screen from 3D All-Stars.

Mario fans weren't the only ones mourning. Twitter user Luke shared a screenshot of Animal Crossing mourning the loss while another user proposed Final Fantasy's Sephiroth may have killed Mario to end it all.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars, featuring Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy, was part of Nintendo's 35th-anniversary celebration in 2020. After being released on Nintendo Switch, the game sold over 8 million copies worldwide.
