For millions of fans, learning about the heroes and villains of DC Comics didn't start with a comic or a movie, but with a Saturday morning animated series that ran for twelve years. From 1973 to 1985, kids sat with a bowl of their favorite cereal and watched as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and a rotating group of DC's greatest superheroes faced off against mad scientists, aliens, the Legion of Doom, and Darkseid on Super Friends.

While Super Friends is a classic animated series, with 93 episodes, it can be hard to get through the whole series, especially when quite a few of them are lackluster. So how can someone be sure that they'll see the best episodes spread across all nine seasons of the show? Luckily, the masses have gone to IMDb and rated each episode of the series.

10 The Mysterious Moles (6.9)

The Super Friends was the last superhero show for HB for years.

In the first two seasons of Super Friends, the heroes didn't fight supervillains from the comics. Instead, the stories focused on absent-minded scientists who accidentally created dangerous machines, aliens who just want to be friends, and other one-off capers.

In this episode, the Super Friends are called in when air conditioning units start to vanish around the world. The investigation leads the heroes to an underground world where they fight sentient trees and rocks while Wendy and Marvin meet a pair of spelunkers named Mr. and Mrs. Mole who want to keep the subterranean world a secret, fearing that humans will pollute it like they are polluting the surface world.

9 Space Knights Of Camelon (6.9)

While trying to save a prehistoric planet from a meteor, Superman crash lands on the medieval planet of Camelon. When he wakes up, the Man of Steel is suffering from amnesia but quickly befriends a group of rebels who are working to overthrow the planet's benevolent king.

Superman becomes the Black Knight and fights alongside the rebels. When the rest of the Super Friends arrive on the planet, they work to remind Superman of who he really is so he can help them defeat the rebels. This episode is one of only two times Wonder Woman ever used her lasso to make someone tell the truth on the show.

8 The Giants Of Doom (6.9)

When Bizarro creates a device that turns him, Sinestro, Toyman, and Captain Cold into giants, they plan to use their new heights to defeat the Super Friends and rule the world. After they imprison the Super Friends in a giant see-through bullet and shoot them into space, the giant villains go about conquering mankind. After crashing into Saturn, the Super Friends break out of their space prison and return to Earth where Superman, Batman, Flash, and Green Lantern turn themselves into giants so they can fight their 100-foot tall foes.

7 Return Of The Phantoms/Bully For You/Superclones (7.0)

The seventh season of Super Friends featured multiple stories in each episode. In "Return of the Phantoms," the Super Friends must stop a trio of escaped Phantom Zone villains who have gone back in time to stop a young Clark Kent from becoming Superboy. In "Bully for You," a bullied boy finds Batman's utility belt and uses it to get back at his bullies but instead, he accidentally destroys a building. In "Superclones," Brainiac creates clones of Aquaman and El Dorado, who go on a crime spree, making people think that the Super Friends have turned evil.

6 The Fantastic Frerps (7.0)

The villainous King Plasto steals raw plastic powder that was being shipped to a government space research station and uses it to create Frerp, a special plastic that he can use to mess with the Super Friends by faking a Martian invasion. King Plasto also uses his invention to create Frerpland, his very own kingdom. Once the Super Friends realize the Martian invasion is just a diversion, they track down King Plasto and stop him. This is one of the few episodes in the first two seasons of Super Friends to have an antagonist who is actually evil and not just misunderstood.

5 The Lord Of Middle Earth (7.1)

A fun camping adventure for the Wonder Twins turns into a nightmare when a bunch of trolls come out of a cave. The trolls, who come from Middle Earth, explain that their land has been taken over by a sorcerer named Mal Havok. The Wonder Twins call in the Super Friends to help the poor trolls.

Mal Havok quickly defeats the Super Friends and turns them into trolls. Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman escape and set out to find the Magic Ring of Gandor, the only thing powerful enough to beat Mal Havok. After a wild journey, the only hero who can save the day is Gleek the space monkey.

4 Menace Of The White Dwarf (7.1)

When Raven, a dangerous alien scientist who was captured by Superman, breaks out of prison, he heads to Earth to get his revenge. When Raven learns that a family of hillbillies called the Martingales found a green rock that fell from the sky, he realizes that they have Kryptonite and offers to buy the rock from them. When the Martingales refuse to sell Raven the Kryptonite, he steals the Washington Monument where Wendy and Marvin just happen to be. Raven agrees to return the Washington Monument in return for the Kryptonite.

3 The Planet Splitter (7.1)

When diamonds start vanishing only to be replaced with fakes, the Super Friends investigate the crime. They discover that the man behind the disappearing diamonds is Doctor Lucius LeRoy LeBon, a scientist who needs the precious jewels to power his Planet Splitter machine. Wendy and Marvin get to Doctor LeBon first, and Marvin tries to talk the scientist out of his plan by telling him about the tragedy of Krypton.

In "The Brainchild," Firestorm and Cyborg are having a good time on their day off when Brainiac captures Cyborg.
