Mark Millar has provided an update for the Netflix adaptation of Supercrooks.

The anime series, named Super Crooks and based on the comic book series by Millar and Leinil Francis Yu, will debut later this year. "We're excited for the world to see the anime adaptation of Supercrooks later this year. This superpowered heist comic about eight super-villains is jam-packed with action and told in 13 30-minute episodes lushly produced by Bones.inc. Fans will be able to catch the first glimpse of this highly anticipated series at the Annecy Festival this June," Millar told Netflix while discussing Jupiter's Legacy and the future slate of Millarworld projects.

The Supercrooks comic focuses on a group of supervillains led by the electric-powered Johnny Bolt. The villains end up owing $12 million to the Mob -- with $100 million in interest -- and decide to pull off a heist in Spain to get the money. Bones, the studio behind My Hero Academia and Godzilla Singular Point, will provide animation for the Super Crooks anime.

Jupiter's Legacy and Supercrooks are among multiple projects Millar has planned for Netflix after the streamer purchased his Millarworld imprint in 2019. Other projects in the works include a film based on Millar and Greg Capullo's Reborn and The Magic Order.

Netflix has not announced a release date for Super Crooks.
