Summit Conjures Night Circus

Summit Entertainment has acquired the worldwide film and television rights to Erin Morgenstern's 2011 debut novel The Night Circus and hired screenwriter Moira Buffini to adapt the phantasmagorical fairy tale, Deadline reports.

The love story is set against the backdrop of Le Cirque des Rêves, a wandering magical traveling circus that only exists at night, where two young magicians have been trained since childhood to carry out the fierce, and deadly, rivalry between their two mentors.

Buffini's credits include Jane Eyre, Tamara Drewe and the upcoming Byzantium. David Heyman and Jeff Clifford will produce the film through the Heyday Films banner, with Richard Pine executive producing.
