When Harley Quinn made her debut on "Batman: The Animated Series," she immediately struck a chord with the viewing audience thanks to her feisty personality and now iconic black and red jester suit. While Harley's sported a number of different looks over the years, that original jester suit still holds a special place in many fans' hearts.

Harley Quinn makes her live-action debut in August's "Suicide Squad," and Margot Robbie's version of the character bears more resemblance to how the character's been portrayed recently than how she looked when she debuted over 20 years ago. But, as Robbie told Hello Giggles, they did try out the jester suit -- as well as many, many other alternates.

"Oh, we tried on every variation of the costume," said Robbie. "I cannot emphasis enough how many outfits, and how many variations of the Harley Quinn costume we tried. We tried the court jester costume, we tried the corset and skirt, we tried leather pants, we tried literally every type of costume possible for her. I really love where we ended up. And who knows, maybe in the sequels we'll go with the court jester one. I think there's a world of possibilities."

We already know that Warner Bros. is eyeing a "Suicide Squad" sequel, so perhaps we will eventually see Robbie get the jester suit out of the closet.

Directed by David Ayer and starring Jared Leto, Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney and more, "Suicide Squad" opens on August 5.
