Richard Cetrone, Ben Affleck's Batman stuntman in David Ayer's Suicide Squad, revealed there are additional scenes featuring the Dark Knight that could be worked into a possible "Ayer Cut" of the film.Cetrone noted that they filmed a lot more sequences with Batman trying to get into The Joker's stolen car than were used in the film, so there were some extra scenes that could be added, especially since so much of the cut footage from Ayer's original version of the film involved The Joker.RELATED: Suicide Squad: David Ayer's Cut Described as a Black Hawk Down-Style Film

#ReleaseTheAyerCut is the latest in a series of fan-driven social media campaigns to get a specific director's original edit of the film released for fans to see. The original fan campaign, #ReleaseTheSnyderCut, resulted in the eventual release of a close approximation of Zack Snyder's original vision for the 2017 Justice League film via a four-hour "Snyder Cut" released on HBO Max. The success of that campaign has led to campaigns for both Ayer's original cut of 2016's Suicide Squad and Joel Schumacher's original cut of 1995's Batman Forever.

Kevin Hickman, one of the editors on Suicide Squad, described Ayer's original cut as "a pretty bold film. It was less comedy. It was a much darker film. It was almost like a Black Hawk Down type thing. It was just very militarized, very serious. I mean, of course, there were supposed to be comedic moments with Will Smith, but it was a darker film. I like where David was going with it and it would be really nice to see him be able to finish what he started."

Cetrone was also asked what he thinks about criticisms over these fan movements, as some people argue that this will make it so that every director will want "their" cut released. Cetrone doesn't buy those critiques, as he feels that the movie industry is inherently a fan-driven business and if the fans want it, then he thinks it's fair game.
