At DC FanDome, Rocksteady Studios released the first official trailer for its new DC video game Justice League: Kill the Justice League, featuring such characters as Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark. If King Shark's voice sounded familiar to any of you wrestling fans out there, that's because the character is being portrayed by none other than WWE superstar Samoa Joe.Samoa Joe, real name Nuufolau Joel Seanoa, confirmed his involvement in Kill the Justice League in a post to Twitter, quote-tweeting the game's reveal trailer and writing, "That Shark tho... #KTJL." Set in the same universe as Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham series of games, Kill the Justice League allows players to step into the shoes of Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Boomerang and King Shark, with a four-player co-op mode available as well. The reveal trailer shows the villain Brainiac wreaking havoc on the city of Metropolis, with the Suicide Squad being enlisted to kill the "Alpha Target" -- who is revealed to be none other than a mind-controlled Superman.

For those unfamiliar with King Shark's voice actor, Samoa Joe got his start as a professional wrestler in the late 1990s. He is best known for his work in Ring of Honor from 2002 to 2008, as well as for his time in TNA Wrestling (now known as Impact Wrestling) from 2005 to 2015. Joe then signed with WWE, making his NXT debut in 2015 before joining the main roster in 2017. In addition to his in-ring work, he frequently provides color commentary. Interestingly enough, the Samoan Submission Machine isn't the only wrestler involved with the on-screen future of Task Force X, with John Cena set to star as Peacemaker in director James Gunn's upcoming film reboot The Suicide Squad.
