Rocksteady Studios unveiled the first official gameplay trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League during The Game Awards 2021.

The footage highlights exactly what players can expect from the upcoming game as they dash across a war-torn Metropolis while dispatching legions of Brainiac's soldiers. The trailer follows the Squad as they attempt to take down The Flash, who's "playing for team Brainiac." Beyond the speedster, a variety of enemy types are showcased, requiring players to combine their various abilities in creative ways to bring them down.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League sits players in the boots of the titular Squad which comprises of Harley Quinn, King Shark, Deadshot and Captain Boomerang. Each character features a unique skillset and powerful abilities both in and out of combat. Deadshot uses his jetpack to zip overhead while Captain Boomerang teleports between buildings and foes alike with the help of his trusty gadgets. The game can be played solo or with up to three friends. When alone, players will be able to swap between the different members of the Suicide Squad while an AI assumes control of the remaining group.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set within Rocksteady's beloved "Arkhamverse," taking place after the events of Batman: Arkham Knight. As Brainiac invades Earth, Amanda Waller (sporting a controversial design) pulls together a group of highly-skilled supervillains to not only defeat the villain but kill the Justice League, who have all been brainwashed. As usual, Task Force X are provided with every resource and weapon they could possibly need to complete their dark mission, all under the threat of death thanks to the tiny bombs injected into their brains. The story trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League confirmed that players will also encounter dark versions of Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern. It's currently unknown what role these characters fill but given the subject matter of the game, they will likely serve as boss fights.
