A Suicide Squad video game was first announced at Comic-Con International: San Diego in 2010. At the time, the Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment project was described by then-DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns as "hardcore violent." However, while work was apparently underway on the game, it fell into obscurity and was swiftly overshadowed by Arkham City and Arkham Knight.

After years of silence, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was teased in June 2020 when Rocksteady, the developer of the acclaimed Batman: Arkham trilogy, licensed the domain names SuicideSquadGame.com and SuicideSquadKillTheJusticeLeague.com. The game was confirmed two months later, just before the first-ever DC FanDome, where the game's first trailer was released. It was also confirmed that the game takes place in the aforementioned Arkham universe.

Developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League arrives on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2022. More details are expected to arrive at DC FanDome on Oct. 16, including the first gameplay trailer.
