Like he has done many times before, The Suicide Squad director James Gunn reaffirmed there is no animosity between DC and Marvel. In fact, Marvel Studios executives Kevin Feige and Louis D'Esposito even came by to visit him on the DC Film's set.

On Instagram, Gunn said the antagonism between the studios is mostly generated by the fans and not by the cast or crew. His most recent defense of the friendliness between Marvel and DC came in the comments section of a recent post, which featured a throwback photo to the stars of The Suicide Squad during a table read one year ago.

Responding to a fan's comment, Gunn wrote,

I told Kevin Feige before I took the job and he was very cool and supportive as he always is. He just wanted me to make a good movie. He and Lou D'Esposito even came to visit the set and watched us shoot. There isn't the enmity behind the scenes like there is in the fan community.
