James Gunn's The Suicide Squad will see Jai Courtney reprise his role as Captain Boomerang from the first film.

In an interview with Business Insider, Courtney himself revealed the news, saying, "We're getting ready to shoot in a few months' time. There's not much else I can reveal about it but, yeah, you'll be seeing Boomerang back for sure."

Earlier this month, producer Peter Safran said the film would be "a total reboot." However, Captain Boomerang is the latest in a longline of characters to return from the first film. Viola Davis is reportedly set to reprise her role as Amanda Waller, and the movie will feature Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn in some capacity. Deadshot is also set to return, though Will Smith will not play the character. Instead, actor Idris Elba is being eyed for the role.

It's not clear at this time how major of a role Courtney's will be, but his statements make it pretty clear that he is going to return for the film, which will reportedly also feature Ratcatcher, King Shark, Polka-Dot Man and Peacemaker.
