After first appearing as Captain Boomerang/George "Digger" Harkness in 2016's Suicide Squad, Jai Courtney is set to reprise his role for James Gunn's upcoming reboot, The Suicide Squad. Recently, Courtney spoke to Gunn's new take on Task Force X.

"I think it's kind of got a different flavor," Courtney said of The Suicide Squad in a recent interview with Variety.  "There's a whole bunch of new characters. James Gunn has an approach to things that is uniquely his; he pulls a lot of that into the Suicide Squad world. And I think that it fits really well, and audiences are going to have a lot of fun with it."

When asked about his favorite day on the set of the new DC film, Courtney replied, "I won't say too much, but there's a particular sequence when I get very wet, and a few other people do, and hilarity ensued when it came to that. When you’re spending hours upon hours in a water tank with a bunch of people treading water, and you’ve got Styrofoam stuffed into every crevice of your costume to try and take the load off and because it’s 4 a.m., it gets quite ridiculous."

Courtney won't be the only actor from 2016's Suicide Squad returning in The Suicide Squad as Viola Davis, Margot Robbie and Joel Kinnaman have all been confirmed to return as Amanda Waller, Harley Quinn and Rick Flag, respectively. Additionally, a number of new characters from DC Comics are said to be making their debut in The Suicide Squad, such as King Shark, Polka-Dot Man and Ratcatcher.
