David Ayer's director's cut of Suicide Squad may not be screening yet, but this didn't stop Ayer from telling the internet how his version of the film would have opened on the big screen.Ayer shared his cut's opening after a fan asked to clarify one of the first scenes within the theatrically released Suicide Squad. A fan was wondering what led Monster T to say to the Joker, "Welcome back," hinting there might have been more footage in Ayer's cut of the Joker not being in Gotham for some time. Other fans suggested this seemed like sufficient evidence that the scene was re-shot and perhaps Joker was elsewhere for some time.RELATED: Harley Quinn Debuts a New Costume in Suicide Squad's Final IssueAyer confirmed that his version of the film originally opened with June Moon finding and releasing Enchantress into unnamed jungle locations, and quickly followed with an extended assault on Arkham led by Joker and his maniacal crew.

While we don't know what else was filmed in the club and car argument between Jared Leto's Joker and Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, Ayer suggested it gives more context to their relationship than the theatrical release did. In May, Ayer even claimed that his cut "is simply better than what the public has seen - and yes it would make sense to update it." Ever since then, fans have been begging the DC Extended Universe and Warner Bros. to release the Ayer Cut of Suicide Squad to see once and for all what context might have been cut from the final released film.

Warner Bros. has yet to comment on whether or not an Ayer Cut would be released any time soon, but with James Gunn's soft-reboot of Suicide Squad around the corner, fans have speculated that we will see a release to help raise buzz for the franchise. Ayer confirmed in July that AT&T/HBO Max own the rights to his cut of the film, though no further details have been shared with the public.

Written and directed by David Ayer, Suicide Squad stars Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Scott Eastwood, Karen Fukuhara, Ike Barinholtz and Cara Delevingne.
