Despite reports claiming actor Michael Rooker is in talks to play King Shark in The Suicide Squad, the actor has stated he is not involved in the project.

Rooker posted a screenshot of the initial report indicating his involvement in the James Gunn project.  The actor captioned the photo with "DA...........NOT!!!" before taking to the comments on the post to state, "This is not true news... I am not cast in this movie."

Given the casting on The Suicide Squad thus far, which includes David Dastmalchian as Polka-Dot Man, Rooker's casting would not have been surprising. Gunn has a tendency to cast friends -- and sometimes family -- and this would have been Rooker's sixth collaboration with Gunn following the two Guardians of the Galaxy films, Slither, Super and the Gunn produced The Belko Experiment. Unfortunately, though, it seems the reunion wasn't meant to be this time around.

Production on The Suicide Squad is reportedly slated to begin in September. It's more than likely we'll get an official casting announcement on King Shark in the coming weeks as Gunn's film looks to have cast the other three new members already.
