WARNING: The following contains spoilers for The Suicide Squad, now in theaters and streaming on HBO Max.

James Gunn's The Suicide Squad has a few secret cameos that DC movie-lovers would completely adore. Famous Suicide Squad comic writer, John Ostrander, appears as a sinister scientist, with the likes of Gunn's brother, Sean, as Calendar Man also appearing. However, there are some cameos Marvel fans would love too, with Taika Waititi himself playing the first Ratcatcher in Portugal. The biggest one, though, is another one related to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it involves a key member from the Guardians of the Galaxy film franchise.

Gunn directed the first two Guardians movies for the MCU -- both of which are considered massive successes -- and he's helming Vol. 3, so it's no surprise that he uses people he's accustomed to. Ironically, Sean, who stood in for Rocket Racoon and played Kraglin in the cosmic corner of the MCU, is playing Weasel here too, with Michael Rooker, aka the MCU's Yondu, in this film as Savant. Others brought over include Nathan Fillion (TDK), Sylvester Stallone (King Shark) and Steve Agee (John Economos), but there's one more alum borrowed from GOTG -- Pom Klementieff.

The Mantis actor and resident telepath for Star Lord's squad is the other hidden cameo the director teased in interviews, who, rumor had it, was cast back in 2019. The thing is, the uncredited role is such a minor one, it's a real blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment. It occurs when Idris Elba's Bloodsport takes his team to a bar on the outskirts of the city in Corto Maltese.

Amanda Waller sent Task Force X to apprehend the Thinker (Peter Capaldi) and use the mad scientist to get into the mysterious Jotunheim base and shut down whatever weapon of mass destruction they were concocting there under the guise of Project Starfish.

When they get inside, Klementieff's the main dancer rocking a red wig as the Squad tries to blend in so they could nab the Thinker. There are only two shots of Klementieff with her backup dancers, to set the seedy bar feel and vibe evoked in war movies when American soldiers visit Vietnam and such, as seen in films like Da 5 Bloods. It creates a grimy essence, as the Thinker's said to patronize frequently for his own shady activities, hinting that he goes there for more than drinking.

But, unless you're familiar with Klementieff's work outside of her Mantis make-up, it's hard to notice her appearance as she's relegated to these quick shots on stage. Ultimately, though, it proves once more Gunn really is loyal to his MCU peeps.

The Suicide Squad is in theaters now and streaming on HBO Max.
