David Ayer's 2016 movie divided audiences and critics alike, but with an impressive cast of Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Jared Leto alongside an open-ended story and a decent box office take, it was little surprise when Warner Bros. ordered a sequel. As details just begin to emerge on the next chapter in the franchise, fans may find hints at who will be back for another dangerous mission as part of Task Force X on the actors' social media accounts.

It's on Kinnaman's Instagram were we get an indication that Diablo will once again be recruited by Amanda Waller for round two. The Altered Carbon actor posted a photo of him and Captain Boomerang actor Jai Courtney at the gym preparing to shoot the sequel alongside the caption, "Brendan whipping us back into shape. Most interestingly, though, is that Jay Hernandez is there as well, despite his character Diablo apparently dying in the first film.

Interestingly, this isn't the first we have heard about his return. Back in 2016, Hernandez teased the return of Diablo. “You know what, let’s just say he’s a metahuman," Hernandez told Variety Latino. "What are you going to do? There are possibilities there [for Diablo to return]. I’m not saying anything but, there are some possibilities. I haven’t heard anything yet from anyone but even if I had, do you think I could tell you?”

No release date has been announced for Suicide Squad 2, but the film is expected to go into production in Fall 2018.
