The Cobie Smulders-led comic book-based television show Stumptown will return for a second season at ABC.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Stumptown is one of eight scripted series to officially be renewed by the Disney-owned network. Stumptown Season 2 will arrive alongside American Housewife Season 5, Black-ish Season 7, Mixed-ish Season 2, The Conners Season 3, The Goldbergs Season 8, A Million Little Things Season 3 and The Rookie Season 3. However, four shows have also been canceled, namely Bless This Mess, Single Parents, Schooled and Emergence.

Stumptown premiered its first season on ABC this past September. Based on the Oni Press comic book series of the same name by Greg Rucka, Matthew Southworth and Justin Greenwood, the series stars Marvel Cinematic Universe actor and How I Met Your Mother alum Smulders as Dex Parios -- a military veteran suffering from PTSD who works as a private investigator in Portland, Oregon in order to support her younger brother and pay off her gambling debts. Stumptown Season 1 ran for a total of 18 episodes, concluding late this past March. The series has been met with mostly positive reception, currently holding a 92 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 38 professional reviews, as well as an audience score of 84 percent based on 288 reviews.
