Rama-Tut

One of the first variants of Kang that appeared in the comics was a futuristic ruler in ancient Egypt known as Rama-Tut. After Nathaniel Richards’ first timeship crashed and stranded him in Egypt, he took on a new identity to rule.

Rama-Tut used his advanced technology to seize control, though he soon decided to return to his original mission to conquer every era of the timeline. Powerful members of the Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom encountered Rama-Tut while on their own time-travel adventures, resulting in the development of the next powerful version of Kang.

Scarlet Centurion

After Rama-Tut met Doctor Doom, he found a kinship with the armored despot. Further inspired by the revelation that he was a potential descendant of Doctor Doom, Kang decided to create his own villainous guise to take on a few different powerful rosters of the Avengers.

Kang armored himself with his technology and became the Scarlet Centurion. He didn’t operate in this identity for long, but he kept the tech around for another purpose. Kang created his own son named Marcus to help him conquer Earth. He passed on his failed Scarlet Centurion identity to Marcus before wiping both of them out.

Ahura was the youngest son of the Inhuman Royal Family, and he possessed powerful possessive psionic abilities. Black Bolt and Kang made an agreement to keep Ahura safe during the Secret Wars event. Kang raised Ahura to be his successor and he unknowingly wiped out the Inhumans. Black Bolt then killed his own son after Ahura became Kang to restore the original timeline.

Iron Lad

Not every version of Kang that has appeared across the timeline has become one of the Avengers' most iconic villains. In fact, one of the youngest versions of Kang actually became a hero and a founding member of the Young Avengers.

When Kang decided to speed up his own timeline, he contacted the younger version of Nathaniel Richards and told him about his future. Richards decided to reject Kang’s path and forge his own. He stole Kang’s tech and created his own suit of armor to become Iron Lad. He later became Kid Immortus in yet another futile attempt to escape his future as Kang.
