Here are the 10 strongest female Force users in Star Wars who have served as an inspiration for their allies and have delivered crushing punishment to their enemies.

10 Asajj Ventress

Asajj's life was a restless streak of pain, betrayal and battles versus some of the most powerful warriors in history, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Count Dooku being a few examples. Despite struggling to choose between the dark and the light side of the Force, Ventress could perform extraordinary feats through her mastery of the Jedi and Sith arts - high-altitude jumps, telekinesis, levitation and mind tricks. Additionally, she was a ferocious two-saber wielding duellist as well as an exquisite hunter.

9 Yaddle

Very reminiscent in her looks to Yoda due to the fact that she belonged to the same species even if she was younger by a few hundred years, Yaddle kept the peace in the galaxy both through her infectious compassion and rare abilities. The benevolent Jedi Master could perform Morichro - causing critical decay of the enemy's body functions. Another quite uncommon power that Yaddle practiced was Force Light - disrupting a dark side user's connection to the Force.

8 Luminara Unduli

Frequently arriving just in the nick of time to provide much-needed support in important battles such as the ones for Ilum, Geonosis and Nadiem, Luminara Unduli was widely regarded as one of the best warriors in the Jedi Order.

Luminara was a superb master of lightsaber combat and her superior style excelled with its flexibility. Additionally, Unduli was perfectly capable of fighting without any kind of a weapon, performing massive jumps, high-speed runs, and mind-boggling acrobatics.

7 Ahsoka Tano

Despite the fact that her full story is yet to be seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars' last season, Ahsoka Tano has already achieved more than enough for her to earn her place among the all-time great female Force users. The former apprentice of Anakin Skywalker has held her own against a number of powerful warriors like General Grievous, Asajj Ventress, Darth Vader and Darth Sidious. She was a meticulous lightsaber warrior, fighting with both one and two sabers at different stages of her Jedi path.

6 Mara Jade

Mara Jade

Luke Skywalker's romantic partner, Mara Jade, evolved into a great Jedi Master after starting off as a vicious assassin in the service of Emperor Palpatine. Her list of skills is seemingly endless; after all, it was being updated constantly throughout Jade's massive, multi-layered career.

Mara is a highly efficient hacker, disguiser and infiltrator. She has mastered a number of fighting techniques with ranged, heavy, melee weapons. Also, Jade is an extraordinary pilot and Force-proficient enough to change her own body, levitate and employ telepathy.

5 Bastila Shan

Bastila also fell in love with a Jedi, although one that was far more controversial - Revan. As she grew powerful, Shan mastered all sorts of dangerous powers such as Force Sense, Force Lightning, Force Choke, Force Breach, Drain Life and others. The most special element of her skill set, however, was Battle meditation, through which she could not only strengthen and boost the morale of her allies but also harm the combat capabilities of hostile armies.

4 Satele Shan

This uncompromisingly fearless Jedi Knight was the descendant of Revan himself, and it showed. Satele was a seasoned veteran of the Great Galactic War and her greatest victory came on the world of Alderaan where she clinically ended the powerful Sith Darth Malgus. Shan's telekinetic powers were devastating and she was capable of extreme actions in order to defend herself like blocking a lightsaber blade with her bare hands. Her powers of foresight and telepathy were also exemplary of her formidable talents.

3 Nomi Sunrider

Nomi Sunrider

Nomi was also instrumental in the redemption of the mighty Jedi Ulic Qel-Droma, providing him with the opportunity to give up on the dark side for good. Sunrider went on to become the Grand Master of the Jedi Council. She was an expert duelist and was capable of using Battle meditation.

2 Meetra Surik

During the Mandalorian Wars, Meetra defied the Jedi Council and sided with Revan and Malak to save the Republic. Later on, she played a critical role in the defeat of the mighty Sith Triumvirate.  One way or another, Meetra Surik made the galaxy reverberate with the stories of her exploits. Surik was a practitioner of advanced techniques like Battle Precognition (sensing the direction in which enemies use the Force), Moving Meditation (repairing mechanical devices with the Force) and Force Enlightenment (boosting a Jedi's most developed powers).

1 An'ya Kuro

Known by her alias "Dark Woman," An'ya stood out with the power to control plants and manipulate light, the latter of which allowed her to become invisible. Her mastery of the Jedi arts was such that Kuro could actually pass through solid objects like a ghost. A couple of other amazing skills that An'ya was in possession of were teleportation and Force healing. Even at her old age, Dark Woman maintained her speed, athleticism, diligence and deadly skills with the lightsaber.
