For 25 years, the forces of evil have been held back thanks to the efforts of the spandex-clad Power Rangers. Produced by mixing American-produced footage with that of Japanese television series called Super Sentai. This unique history has made Power Rangers into a beloved but surreal entity 25 years later. There are multiple groups of Rangers who have all battled monsters with unique themes, powers, and weaponry. The weapons of Power Rangers have consistently been high notes of the series for its ever-evolving audience. The Ranger armory is filled with a variety of weaponry that fit the fantastical nature of the show. Some of these have been the result of the show being tied to Japanese design. Other times this imagery occurs from American creations that try to emulate that same design. In any case, the arsenal utilized by a team of Rangers will always be something memorable, if a little weird.

The weapons used by a team of Power Rangers serve a variety of the show's functions. Some weapons are crucially important to the lore of a season while others are just visual nods to a Ranger's teams theme. And then the show brings out the truly outlandish armaments that could only be captured by the lighthearted stylized world of the series. Some weapons can combine or be customized with each other. Others still are not compatible with any additional arms but are capable of configuring themselves into a different mode. Here are the absolute strongest weapons in Power Rangers history; all of the best blasters, sabers, launchers, and lancers that have kept the forces of evil at bay for over two decades.

25 NINJA POWER WEAPONS

The signature weapons for the Ninja Storm Power Rangers included the Lion Hammer, Sonic Fin, and Hawk Blaster. Each weapon could launch attacks based on the wielder's respective element power. The Hammer could create earthquakes, the Fin emitting sound waves akin to a dolphin's sonar, and the Blaster hurling swaths of flame at its foes.

On their own, the Ninja Storm Power Weapons were formidable, but together they were nearly unstoppable. Combining the three weapons formed the Storm Striker, a devastating double handed canon that could form three separate configurations depending on which weapon formed its front section. Useful arsenal and variation of attack, these weapons can brave any storm.

24 THE POWER CANON

power canon

In the first season, the Mighty Morphin Rangers combined their five weapons to form the Power Blaster. Season 2 of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers used new footage and props from a different Japanese television show, which meant replacing the original heavy ordinance weapon. This new blaster would be known as the Power Canon.

A massive piece of artillery, the canon required at least three of the six Rangers to wield it. Beyond the scale of the weapon, the Power Canon also boasts an intimidating dragon like-design. The Canon is powered by colored orbs supplied by the Rangers and blasted Monsters with explosive accuracy.

23 QUASAR LAUNCHERS

Quasar Launcher

The Quasar Launchers, like the Power Canon before them, were Power Blaster-like weapons used by the Lost Galaxy team. Unlike the Power Canon though, each individual Ranger had their own launcher. The Quasar Launchers were impressive Weapons, mounting on a Ranger's shoulder to fire devastating blasts of energy.

In addition to this long-range attack, each Launcher also had a short-range form, extending into a staff weapon for melee combat. They were empowered further by the Lights of Orion, a special energy source the Rangers received later in the season. Multi-purpose and unquestionably lethal, the Quasar Launchers propelled themselves as an important part of the Lost Galaxy arsenal.

22 SENTURION SYNERGIZER

Senturion Synergizer 1

The main weapon of intergalactic Policeman the Blue Senturion, the Senturion Synergizer had three main configurations: police baton, blaster rifle, and an oversized police badge. All three of its forms came with unique abilities and strengths.

Though Senturion never strayed from a physical challenge, his preferred use of the Synergizer was the blaster mode, which he would use to shoot down alien pirates with the accuracy and coolness of Peter Weller himself. Plus, fans will remember the iconic moment of Power Rangers history where the Synergizer's badge mode used traffic lights to defeat sentient cars possessed by evil pizzas.

21 ROCKSTORM GUITAR

Rockstorm Guitar

The Rockstorm Guitar is the personalized weapon of the Ninja Steel Gold Ranger, Levi Weston. A Country musician and secret brother to the Ninja Steel Red Ranger Brody, Levi fights with the Rockstorm as well as playing a mean acoustic set.

The Guitar transforms between sword and gun with a simple alteration of the grip. It also has compatibilities with Levi's Ninja Storm Star, shooting powerful lightning or tornado attacks with a simple spin. Armed with musical might and ready for ninja fights, the Rockstorm Guitar allows its user to mosey into battle without fear.

20 SHADOW SABER

Shadow Sword

The Shadow Saber is the personal weapon of Anubis “Doggie Kruger,” who leads Space Patrol Delta on Earth. Kruger first appeared in the show as a mentor figure encouraging and managing the Rangers from afar. He eventually decided to assist the Rangers in combat when the threats became too severe, becoming the Shadow Ranger, who wielded the aptly-named Shadow Saber.

Not only is it a deadly handheld weapon, the Saber is, in Kruger’s words, “the truest sword in the galaxy.” The most noteworthy attack of the sword is its Containment Strike, a finisher attack that turns his opponent into a Containment Card in one blow.

19 MAGNA BLASTER

Magna Blaster

The Magna Blaster is the weapon utilized by the alien hero Magna Defender, and his successor Mike Corbett. The Blaster has two configurations. Its primary Blaster form can fire devastating blows, recharging with a pump at the front of the Blaster. Magna Defender would fire the blast from the air while jumping and blast his enemies in quick succession.

It can also form into sword-mode by removing said body section, and adjusting the sword upright. Both forms of the Blaster served the Defenders in their pursuits of justice.

18 SAMURAI SPIN SWORD

Samurai Spin Sword 1

As you might guess, this sword was the main weapon for the Samurai Power Rangers. Unlike most Rangers, who come with personalized weapons in addition to group weapons, the Spin Sword functions as both. Its default form is a deadly blade that cuts through its opponents with precise accuracy.

However, with the addition of a personalized Ranger Disk, the Swords spin into one of their individual weapons: the Blue Ranger's Hydro Bow, Green's Forest Spear, Yellow’s Earth Slicer, Pink’s Sky Fan, and Red’s massive Fire Smasher. In any of its forms, the Spin Sword is an indispensable weapon for the Samurai Rangers.

17 DINO CHARGE MORPHER

Dino Charge Morpher

One of the only Morphers that also act as a weapon, the Dino Charge morpher is an impressive handheld laser pistol. In addition to morphing the Rangers, the Morphers also had a variety of offensive attacks based on what Dino Charger the Rangers put into their Morpher.

This type of attack is called the Dino Morpher Blast and requires one or more Dino Chargers for a Ranger to activate. The Dino Charge Morpher can also combine with the Dino Saber to form the even more powerful Dino Blade Blaster.

16 MAGI STAFFS

Magi Staffs

In terms of weaponry, you can’t do much better than literal magic, right? The Magi Staffs were the Mystic Force Rangers’ main tool to channel their magic. Through the Staffs, the Rangers cast spells that vary from simple levitation to the more complex growing of vines and trees.

They also could configure into additional weapons like an axe, sword, and crossbow mode by changing the position of the M shaped prongs. Like the Chrono Sabers, the Staffs have multi-colored points based on the Rangers' symbols to distinguish its user. These abilities made the Magi Staffs an indispensable magical source for the one and only Mystic Force.

15 LASER LAMP

Laser Lamp

Discovered in a cave by the Mystic Force Rangers, the Laser Lamp acts as a weapon and residence of comic relief genie, Jenji. When it isn’t the giant cat’s bachelor pad, the Laser Lamp is an offensive weapon used by the Solaris Knight.

With the Lamp, the Solaris Knight had a variety of long-range blasts and could even attack multiple enemies at once. The Lamp’s finishing move involves summoning its wish-granting denizen, as he mercilessly strikes at an opponent with physical blows. Whether it's to zap a monster, or summon a punch-ready friend, the Laser Lamp is sure to make wishes come true.

14 ASTROBLASTERS

Astro Blasters

The Astroblasters were the official firearms of the Power Rangers In Space, and are easily one of the most aesthetically pleasing weapons on this list. The blasters consist of a sleek dark blue colored body that has a removable bladed top portion. The Astroblasters had more than looks going for them, though, firing blasts that brought cosmic woe to monsters and Quantrons alike.

While the Astroblasters do not turn into melee weapons, they do have an additional combination with the Astro Power Weapons. Removing the bladed portion creates a section to insert the Astro Power Weapons can be inserted into forming an even more destructive weapon. Great looking and great weapons, the Astroblasters are truly out of this world.

13 TITANIUM BLASTER

Titanium Blaster

The Titanium Blaster was the personalized weapon of Lightspeed Rescue’s Sixth Ranger, the Titanium Ranger. Like the Ranger who wields it, the Titanium Blaster is exclusive to Power Rangers, with no Sentai counterpart. This freedom to make something new led to an imaginative and different weapon that still had qualities of all great Ranger arms.

The Titanium Blaster is a compact almost box-like rifle, that unfolds for an equally effective axe mode. Its color scheme was a striking gold, black, and silver affair that captivated the audience's eye, but did not come off as distracting. It was a very practical and visually cool piece of equipment.

12 CHRONO SABERS

Chrono Saber

The Chrono Sabers were the melee weapon of choice for the Time Force Power Rangers. Fashioned after the hands of a clock, the Chrono Sabers could be held individually for dual-wielding purposes or be attached together, forming a two-sided weapon.

The most devastating configuration occurred when the combined weapon was positioned in a 90-degree angle, activating a powerful super attack that slices its opponents. Design-wise the Sabers are stunning, with sharp, sleek, bases and a variety of customizable multi-colored tips to signify which Ranger the Saber belonged to. With a variety of ways to cut down enemies, any Mutant on the opposite end of a Chrono Saber knows their time is up.

11 ZEO POWER WEAPONS

Green Power Ranger Zeo

The Mighty Morphin costumes and Power Weapons lasted three seasons. It was decided a new set of powers would be given in the fourth season, Power Rangers: Zeo, which would give the Rangers proper upgrades beyond Zords and bikes. There were new suits, new equipment, and finally a new set of personalized power weapons!

The Zeo Power Weapons consisted of the Power Disc, Power Double Club, Power Axe, Power Hatchets, and a Power Sword. Brought together, along with the standard Zeo Laser Pistol and Zeo Pod Sword, they formed the devastating Zeo Power Blaster!

10 R.I.C./CANINE CANON

Canine Canon

Man’s best friend is now the most lethal weapon on Earth! The Robotic Interactive Canine, or R.I.C for short, was an outdated mechanical asset to the forces of Space Patrol Delta. He was scheduled for retirement, before being given several enhancements from tech developer Boom and B-Squad Green Ranger Bridge.

R.I.C 2.0's powers included enhanced senses, added strength, an internal mini-fridge, and a weapon mode called the Canine Canon. Assisting the Rangers as their season’s iteration of the Power Blaster, the Canine Canon brought criminals to justice with devastating finishers. It was a true testament to the phrase puppy power.

9 LUNAR CUE

Lunar Cue

One of the most absurd weapons in Power Rangers history, the Lunar Cue is almost just as amazing in equal measure. The weapon of the Power Ranger Wild Force’s Lunar Wolf Ranger, it has three functional modes of sword, sniper, and... pool cue.

The first two forms are very common weapons for past Rangers. The Saber mode was even the weapon form used for the Wolf Ranger's signature Full Moon Slash finisher. It is the pool cue, however, that is the most interesting aspect to the weapon. In it, the Lunar Ranger uses his Zord crystals as pool balls to destroy his foes. Talk about a game-changer!

8 SNOW STAFF

Snow Staff

The weapon utilized by the mentor of the Mystic Force, Udonna, the Snow Staff was not only the source of Udonna's magic, it allowed her to morph into the Mystic Force White Ranger. The Snow Staff is the fully-realized version of the Magi Staff, with a much longer hilt and snow topper.

While the Staff does not have an additional mode, it demonstrates several devastating displays of power throughout the show. The Staff was able to cast advanced magic, freezing Udonna's opponents and hurling powerful winds.

7 QUANTUM DEFENDER

Quantum Defender

The Quantum Defender’s design is the perfect example of Power Rangers' most absurd (yet awesome) aesthetics at their finest. An explosive weapon used by the Quantum Ranger, the Quantum Defender’s main mode is a blaster but can have a fold-out blade configuration for close quarters combat.

If all else fails, the Quantum Ranger can use the Defender’s finishing attack, the Freeze Strike, to obliterate his mutant opponents. The Quantum Defender is also a tyrannosaurus rex head with a handle. Even though that design element seems silly in other environments, in Power Rangers, it is a feared and revered weapon.

6 DRAGO SWORD

More of a Dagger than its name implies, the Drago Sword was still a formidable weapon to Ranger and villain alike. Used by the White Drago Ranger from Power Rangers Dino Thunder, the Sword’s small size mixed with the White Ranger’s impressive speed made for a deadly combination.

Additionally, the tiny tool could also create and propel energy arrows that would barrage an enemy from multiple angles. Its diminutive size and the way the White Ranger would hold it gave the Sword an almost quill-like aesthetic. That makes sense, of course, given the White Ranger's identity is that of aspiring comic artist Trent Mercer. Quick and deadly, the Drago Sword slashes its way as one of the most powerful weapons in Ranger history.
