From teenagers with attitude to ninjas as tough as steel, the legacy of the Power Rangers is one defined by power. Since the series debuted in 1993, the show has remained a pop culture institution, even as the franchise continued to change hands over the years, most recently winding up in the hands of Hasbro. The franchise shows no signs of stopping, thanks in part to the continuing trend of rebooting the series every other year and starting over with a fresh cast and new stories. Adopting this formula, similar to the Super Sentai franchise that has formed the basis of Power Rangers 25 year long history, has led to long-term success and growth for the franchise as a whole.

With 25 years of Rangers and 20 teams of heroes, the Power Rangers have had plenty of powerhouses to choose from. For the purposes of this list, we're not just looking at physical strength to determine the strongest Power Rangers. Much in the same tone of self-worth and inclusiveness, the Power Rangers have supported for their tenure, we're looking at their most powerful leaders, their strongest fighters and the characters who led their teams to greatness. After all, it's easy for a Power Ranger to punch a hole in a building to get to the bad guys, but how easy is it to convince the nerdy kid who just got dubbed the new Green Ranger to do it? These are our rankings of the 25 strongest Power Rangers ever.

25 SUMMER, R.O.S. YELLOW

Summer Landsdown wasn't a good person. Spoiled, rich, and snobby, she got a wake-up call when Venjix attacked. Summer, out celebrating her birthday with friends, was abandoned and left to fend for herself. Though saved by her butler Andrews, he would give his life to save hers.

The experience changed Summer and led her down a more heroic path. Summer would eventually join the RPM team as Ranger Operator Series Yellow. As a Ranger, Summer proved she had learned selflessness and grown even more determined, proving an invaluable ally in saving the ravaged alternate world of Power Rangers RPM.

24 BILLY, BLUE RANGER

Billy Cranston poses as the Blue Mighty Morphin Power Ranger

Billy was a huge nerd, and it made him seem like an odd choice to be a Power Ranger. When he was first shown joining the ranks of the Power Rangers, Billy was awkward and inexperienced in fighting.

But strength isn't just martial arts. Billy's intellect made him a brilliant tactician, and he designed much of the technology the Rangers came to rely on, from communicators to flying cars. Billy was also the most tenured of the original Ranger team, and one of the few Rangers to choose retirement rather than be forced out of action.

23 CARTER, LIGHTSPEED RED RANGER

Carter Grayson was the workhorse of the Lightspeed Rescue team. As the team leader, his history as a firefighter made him an excellent frontman, and his selfless and courageous nature saw him acting instinctively without a second thought.

But this did come as something of a double-edged sword. Carter literally never took days off until he was lectured about it by team mentor Captain Mitchell. Though by the book, Carter was also not afraid to be the first to leap into action, taking on some of the Power Rangers' fiercest monsters head-on.

22 LAUREN, RED SAMURAI RANGER

The big twist of the much applauded Power Rangers Super Samurai season was that the series' Red Ranger, Jayden, wasn't really the Red Ranger. He was a decoy to protect his sister, Lauren, who was the only Shiba Clan member who could seal away Xandred and his Nighloks.

While the Samurai Rangers were struggling, Lauren was getting stuff done. She perfected the Sealing Symbol and only failed because of Xandred's unexpected betrayal of his ally Dayu. Even following this, Lauren proved one of the team's strongest fighters, lending her strength to allow Jayden to strike the final blow on Xandred.

21 RJ, WOLF RANGER

The Wolf Jungle Fury Power Ranger, Robert James, prepares to attack in the woods

Among Power Rangers mentors, RJ was the most eccentric. He had a unique fighting style which is the result of training from multiple skilled Masters, but you wouldn't know it from seeing him. RJ is aloof and laid back, spending most of his free time managing a pizza parlor.

But RJ was largely putting on airs. His fighting style was devastatingly powerful, making his Wolf Ranger almost terrifying in how formidable he was. He also demonstrated an intellect on par with Billy, having created his team's sunglass-styled Solar Morphers and successfully tied them to the mysterious Morphin Grid.

20 JEN, PINK TIME FORCE RANGER

Jen Scotts flashes her Time Force badge while using her suit

Jen Scott didn't have time to take your guff. When Ransik mowed down her fiancee after escaping from his prison escort, Jen picked herself up and jetted back to the year 2001 with the rest of the Time Force Rangers to save history.

Jen took her leadership of the Time Force Rangers incredibly seriously. She was largely to the point and no-nonsense, even when her blooming relationship with Wes Collins began to loosen her stiff demeanor. Despite this, Jen still maintained her obligation to duty, returning to the future following Ransik's defeat.

19 CAM, GREEN SAMURAI RANGER

The son of Ninja Storm mentor and Wind Academy instructor Sensei Kanoi, Cam Watanabe was himself never allowed to become a ninja. He originally filled in a support role for the team until an adventure in the past would bestow Cam with the Green Samurai Ranger powers.

Already one of the most intelligent Rangers in history, Cam's Green Samurai powers made him one of the strongest members of the team even without formal ninja training. Like other members of the team, Cam retired upon defeating Lothor to become an instructor at the Wind Academy.

18 DILLON, R.O.S. BLACK

In the apocalyptic future of an alternate Earth, Dillon was found wandering the wastelands. Hounded by monsters called Grinders, he would eventually arrive at the last safe haven, the domed city Corinth and find his way to the Ranger Operators, where he would join the team as Series Black.

Dillon wasn't just a normal human, though. Venjix hardware implanted into his body gave him enhanced strength and reflexes, though amnesia kept him from knowing where this technology came from. Dillon's time as a Ranger saw Corinth saved from Venjix's forces.

17 ADAM PARK, BLACK RANGER

With Jason, Trini and Zack headed for a peace conference in Switzerland, replacement Power Rangers were needed. Adam Park would step in to replace Zack as the Black Ranger, and in the process become one of the longest-serving Power Rangers ever.

Adam was a Ranger through the Turbo era when he finally retired. However, he kept his original morpher and would still use it when needed, despite risking his own life in the process. Adam's bravery would be honored years later when the Sentinel Knight would choose him as a replacement when the Overdrive Rangers lost their powers.

16 TORI, BLUE WIND RANGER

Among the Ninja Storm Rangers, Tori Hanson was perhaps the most notable. While she didn't share Shane's fighting prowess or Dustin's enthusiasm, her level-headed nature made her the most straightforward of the team.

Tori would be one of the most reliable members of the team, thanks to her fighting skills and mastery over water, even being capable of running across water at high speed. Her skills garnered respect as one of the former Rangers chosen by the Sentinel Knight to safeguard Earth when the Overdrive Rangers lost their powers.

15 SYD, SPD PINK RANGER

The Pink SPD Ranger

Sydney Drew was something of a spoiled brat. Self-centered and vain, she, like the other SPD Rangers, was the child of scientists who had been exposed to radiation, granting them unusual abilities. For Syd, this manifested in her Fist of Iron.

Technically, Syd had the ability to alter her molecular structure to that of anything she touched. To better use this ability, she kept a chunk of iron on her at all times, thus the Fist of Iron nickname. This ability meant the already tough as nails Syd could become potentially unstoppable.

14 WES, RED TIME FORCE RANGER

With the Time Force Rangers stranded in the past without a Red Ranger, Alex, they needed a way to activate their Chrono Morphers. They would turn to Wes, who had a genetic similarity to Alex and would eventually become the team's new Red Ranger.

Despite coming from a wealthy family, Wes remained kind and just, and becoming the Red Time Force Ranger only reinforced this. Against every bizarre encounter, even when faced with his own impending death, Wes never gave up and continued fighting on against impossible odds.

13 DAGGERON, SOLARIS KNIGHT

One of the ancient mystics, Daggeron came to notoriety nearly two decades prior to the start of Power Rangers Mystic Force, disappearing after The Great Battle. In fact, Daggeron had sealed himself in a cave along with an ancient evil, Calindor, who would later be known as Imperious.

As the Solaris Knight, Daggeron continued fighting for good alongside the Mystic Force Rangers and served a mentor to train them in the use of their magic. He was also an incredibly powerful fighter, managing to finally defeat his rival Imperious despite being gravely wounded.

12 RYAN, TITANIUM RANGER

titanium ranger

Ryan Mitchell was stolen and raised by demons. When his father became the mentor to the Lightspeed Rescue team, Ryan would return to infiltrate the team's base. There he would steal a prototype Morpher and hound the Lightspeed Rangers as the Titanium Ranger.

Ryan was naturally enhanced and only grew stronger with the Titanium Morpher, nearly defeating the Lightspeed Rangers before they saved him. Even with a curse threatening to kill him with each morph after allying with Lightspeed, Ryan still fought valiantly against Diabolico and Bansheera, cementing himself as one of the strongest Rangers ever.

11 JASON, GOLD ZEO RANGER

With Trey of Triforia dying, team leader Tommy Oliver turned to old friend and former Red Ranger Jason Lee Scott to safeguard Trey's powers. After years away, Jason returned to the team as the Gold Zeo Ranger, gaining a power that may have rivaled his Red Ranger ones at their best.

Unfortunately for Jason, these powers weren't meant for a human, and they began to wear on his body. Jason would be forced to return the powers to Trey before they killed him, leading to him leaving the Power Rangers once again.

10 ANDROS, RED SPACE RANGER

It wasn't until late in the original run of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers that we learned there were Rangers beyond the stars. Following the destruction of the Command Center and the apparent victory of Divatox, the Turbo Rangers took to space and found Andros, the Red Space Ranger.

Andros was unique in that he operated alone. Unlike previously seen Rangers, he was an expert at spying and recon, shown actively infiltrating his enemies' ranks when needed. Also worth noting is Andros' unbreakable resolve, as he was the Ranger who agreed to sacrifice Zordon to save the universe.

9 MAGNA DEFENDER

The Magna Defender

His planet destroyed and son murdered by Scorpius, the Magna Defender sought revenge throughout the galaxy but was trapped in a pit. He would escape years later by bonding with Leo Corbett's brother, Mike, who had fallen into the same pit when the Lost Galaxy Rangers claimed the Quasar Sabers.

Magna Defender nearly defeated Scorpius single-handedly but would have destroyed the space station Terra Venture in the process. He instead gave his life to save the space station, in the process releasing Mike, who would become the new Magna Defender and aid the Rangers in defeating Scorpios for good.

8 KIMBERLY, THE RANGER SLAYER

In the world where Lord Drakkon took over the world, Kimberly Hart was a member of The Coinless. Working alongside Zack and Taylor, these de-powered Rangers worked to save innocent victims while trying to find a way to stop Lord Drakkon.

During a failed attempt to assassinate Drakkon, Kimberly would be enslaved into his service. Dubbed the Ranger Slayer, Kimberly was granted new powers and became his servant. With the shattering of the Morphin Grid, Kimberly would find herself trapped in the present day, facing off with her former allies and younger self.

7 ANUBIS "DOGGIE" KRUGER, SHADOW RANGER

Doggie Kruger, the Shadow Ranger from SPD in the woods

As the gruff yet caring leader of SPD's B-Squad. Anubis "Doggie" Kruger seemed to just be your typical military leader. But when the chips were down, he demonstrated an incredible fighting prowess, eventually adopting the role of the SPD Shadow Ranger.

Kruger was a master swordsman and demonstrated these abilities when the opportunity arose. In his first outing as the Shadow Ranger, Kruger would slay 100 Crybots singlehandedly just for a chance at revenge against the man who destroyed his planet.

6 ERIC, QUANTUM RANGER

Eric Myers the Quantum Red ranger fights on the moon

Other Rangers fought for the right to become Power Rangers. Eric Meyers literally took it into his own hands. When he found out about the Quantum Morpher, he didn't ask the Time Force Rangers for it. He simply took it for himself.

He didn't stop there, either. Eric would oppose both the evil Ransik and the Time Force Rangers for the right to pilot the Quantasaurus Rex, a Zord so incredibly powerful that it was able to destroy the robot Doomtron despite losing its primary power source.
