PlayStation's State of Play unveiled the first full trailer of Capcom's latest entry in its iconic battler game, Street Fighter 6.

Along with a massive showcase of surprising reveals, such as the Resident Evil 4 remake's first trailer and a new trailer for the upcoming Final Fantasy XVI, PlayStation premiered the first full look at Street Fighter 6. Along with the return of classic characters from the franchise, such as Chun-Li and Ryu, the game also introduced players to fresh faces such as Jamie, who appears to employ a type of drunken boxing style. Perhaps the biggest news of all is that the new game will release in 2023.

"Street Fighter 6, the next game in the iconic series, will release in 2023," announced the trailer description. "Take part in the Fighting Ground, which focuses on the classic fighting game experience with modes from previous games in the series. Two new modes will be available alongside: World Tour, an immersive single-player story experience, and Battle Hub, which will further expand the scope of player communication and engagement. Your Moment. Your Fight."

Street Fighter 6 includes two play modes. One lets players engage in one-on-one battles with other characters, a typical mainstay of the franchise and similar battlers. The other is a brand new feature in the franchise: the aforementioned open world, which lets players explore the city in search of new fights to engage in. Another new feature is the inclusion of in-game commentary from popular figures in the fighting game community.
