The fall 2020 Anime season is quickly approaching. As the summer season winds down, and the last few episodes air, fans are looking to the fall schedule for what seems to be an exciting line-up of shows. This year’s fall schedule is pretty diverse, with some promising anime in almost every major genre and some big name series returning to the fold.

This season is absolutely stacked with action anime, with some of the genre’s biggest names making a return. Add in some promising new titles, and things are looking good for fans of the action genre. With so many different shows and streaming platforms, keeping track of where to watch what can be difficult. With that in mind, here are just some of the fall 2020 action anime and where you can stream them.

10 Jujutsu Kaisen

Based off of the popular Weekly Shounen Jump series, Jujutsu Kaisen follows Yuji Itadori who – in order to protect his friends – allows himself to possessed by the “Curse” Sukuna, a powerful creature that feeds off the misfortune of others.

With his newfound powers, Yuji is admitted to the Tokyo Metropolitan Technical High School of Sorcery where he learns to control his newfound powers in the hopes of collecting all of Sukuna’s fingers and destroying the demon’s presence for good.

9 Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai

The Dragon Quest series is one of Japan’s most popular gaming franchises. The series has had countless adaptations and crossovers, and the fall season will see one if its most popular properties; The Adventure of Dai.

A remake of the 90s anime adaptation, The Adventure of Dai follows Dai and his friends as they try to stop a legendary demon and the evil forces that revived him. There’s currently no news on where to stream the series, but that should be sorted out before the anime’s Japanese broadcast premier.

8 Fire Force Season 2

A holdover from the summer season, Fire Force Season 2 looks to continue the momentum gained from its fantastic first season. Shinra, Tamaki and the gang return for what’s been shaping up to be a stellar second act.

The first half of season 2 aired early in July. With so much having happened in such a short time, the fall half of season 2 looks like it’ll be even more action packed.

7 Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World

Based off of the popular light novel of the same name, Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World tells the story of two nations at war, and two people from each side who can end it all.

When the princess of the nation of Nebulis and one of the nation of Empire’s strongest swordsmen cross paths, the two take an interest in each other. With the conflict at hand pinning them against each other, the two must either destroy the other or find a way to resolve the longstanding conflict.

6 Akudama Drive

Akudama Drive is an upcoming collaboration between Studio Pierrot and TooKyo Games. The story was penned by Danganronpa creator Kazutaka Kodaka, with character designs by Danganronpa's Rui Komatsuzaki.

The series takes place in Japan after a massive war between the Kanto and Kansai regions divides the country. The Kansai region becomes dependant on Kanto, but as criminals know as Akudama start getting more and more power, the police and government slowly start to lose control.

5 Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Season 3

The adventures of Bell Cranel and the Hestia Familia continues with the third season of the immensely popular Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? series. With a sizable four-year gap between the first and second seasons, season 3 comes in just a year after the end of season 2.

Season 3 will focus on Wiene, a female Vouivre who wakes up with no memory of who she is. As the discovery of a dragon girl capable of speaking the human language causes an uproar, Bell and the Hestia Familia get involved in what seems like their biggest adventure yet.

4 Digimon Adventure:

The original Digimon Adventure series is beloved by an entire generation of fans. Though the franchise has grown and expanded over the years, the 1999 anime stands as one of the franchise’s best properties.

Having first aired during the spring season, the Digimon Adventure: reboot continues on into the fall schedule after the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic caused some development issues early on in production. Both long-time fans and newcomers alike should be excited to see where the series goes from here.

3 The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor Arc

Six years after the first season originally aired, and three years after The Girl Who Calls the Stars came out, The Irregular at Magic High School is back with its much anticipated second season.

The Visitor Arc introduces Angelina Kudou Shields who comes over to Japan just as a string of mysterious attacks leave mages drained of their blood. As Tatsuya looks into the events, he works on finding out who this mystery attacker is.

2 Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon

One of this season’s most heavily anticipated anime, Yashahime is the sequel to the incredibly popular Inuyasha.

Taking place several years after the main series, Yashahime follows twins Towa and Setsuna as they search for missing links in their past following their separation ten years earlier. The two are joined by their cousin, Moroha, the only daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome.

1 Noblesse

A unique entry on this list, Noblesse is the only series here that’s based off of a manhwa instead of a manga or light novel.

The series follows noble Cadis Etrama Di Raizel who, after waking up following an 820 year long sleep, has to adapt to the modern world alongside his loyal servant, Frankenstein and several new friends. The series has the group work to uncover Rai’s past while they combat a secret organization.
