Barb may be lost forever in the Upside Down, but that doesn't mean we've seen the last of the actress who portrays her.

Although Ethel is famed in the comics for her romantic pursuit of Jughead Jones (played on "Riverdale" by Cole Sprouse), the television series apparently will find her in the arms of "someone very different." Ethel will also strike a bond with Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Betty (Lili Reinhart), after they plot revenge on Archie's nemesis Reggie Mantel (Ross Butler).

The series also stars K.J. Apa, Ashleigh Murray, Luke Perry, Madelaine Petsch, Mädchen Amick, Marisol Nichols, Daniel Yang and Cody Kearsley.

Developed by Roberto Aguire-Sacasa ("Glee") and executive produced by Greg Berlanti ("The Flash"), "Riverdale" will premiere at midseason on The CW.
