Stranger Things breakout star Joseph Quinn would be "furious" if the Duffer brothers did not bring Eddie Munson back for Season 5.

In an interview with The Guardian, Quinn admitted that he would be angry to miss out on the opportunity to return for Stranger Things' fifth and final season. "I'll be furious if they don't bring me back," he laughed. "I'd love to, if they'll have me." This response from the actor comes after viewers voiced concerns Season 4, Volume 2 would see a fan-favorite character meet their demise. These fears were compounded after co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer confirmed Stranger Things' latest season doesn't have a happy ending.

Eddie was a new addition to the Stranger Things ensemble this season. Still, he quickly established himself as a series standout with his larger-than-life hair and devotion to the heavy metal ascetic. The Duffer brothers were so impressed by Quinn's likeability that they cast the actor after only two self-taped auditions. "No meetings, no chemistry reads, no protracted process," Quinn recalled. "It was pretty unusual and very disarming. It meant I was waiting for [creators] the Duffer brothers to realize they'd made a mistake."

Theories surrounding Eddie's return will have to wait to see if the character survives Stranger Things' potentially-deadly double feature in Volume 2. The cast members are sworn to secrecy, but Quinn was able to tease one scene viewers can expect to see in the final two episodes. "The thing is, they've got my family tied up somewhere and if I spoil anything, I'll never see them again," Quinn joked. "I can say there's a guitar scene and that the scale and ambition are astonishing. All the seeds that have been planted bear fruit and it's just carnage. You know the finale is two-and-a-half hours, right? Ending with this monster, feature-length episode is so bold."

Introduced in Season 4 as a mad man who jumps on cafeteria tables, throwing food and flipping off authority, Eddie Munson is a self-proclaimed metalhead. He was the ringleader of Hawkins High's Dungeons & Dragons society, moonlighting as a drug dealer and musician for the band Corroded Coffin. However, Eddie soon stumbled into the gruesome sci-fi plot of the show and wound up the most wanted man in Hawkins. All while winning fans over with his zany nerd persona.

Quinn was born in London, England. Before making his Stranger Things debut, his acting credits included Dickensian, Howards End and Les Misérables. In addition, he played Tsarevich Paul in Helen Mirren's Catherine the Great.

Stranger Things Season 4, Volume 2 will stream on Netflix starting July 1.
