As a show develops and becomes more popular, audiences will familiarize themselves with its visual signature. Simply put, there are some settings fans will immediately recognize, even if those settings are seen outside of the show. Shows such as The Simpsons and Stranger Things, for example, have a few fairly distinct settings, like the living rooms of their star characters.

IKEA recently put that to the test with its newest ad campaign titled, "the real life series." The campaign team spent months exploring available products in order to recreate famous fictional living rooms from shows such as The Simpsons, Stranger Things and even Friends, as closely as possible.

The results aren't entirely perfect, but they are each close enough that fans would be able to recognize the source material, even without any spiky-haired kids, demigorgons or impossibly wealthy 20-year-old chefs involved to give anyone any hints.

The campaign is based in the United Arab Emirates and the "real life series" living rooms will be on display in just a few IKEA stories in the Middle East. IKEA's managing director for the UAE, Qatar and Egypt, Oman Vinod Jayan had nothing but praise for the creative team's work, stating that the recreations were "a true testament of what IKEA represents: a place where everyone can bring whatever idea they see or have to life."
