Ever since Mike and Eleven kissed in the gym during Season 1, Stranger Things has started developing relationships for more and more of its characters. In Season 3, Mike and Eleven are still a thing, Lucas and Max are official, Dustin found Suzie at science camp and Jonathan and Nancy are together. Then, Joyce and Hopper briefly acknowledged feelings for each other before Hopper disappeared. Even with all these blooming romances, new character castings indicate that Stranger Things is not finished pairing people up.

Season 4 will add a few new characters. One of them is Anne with an E star Amybeth McNulty who will play Vickie. Her character description says that she’s “a cool, fast-talking band nerd who catches the eye of one of our beloved heroes.” Catching someone’s eye is not necessarily romantic, but it seems likely headed in that direction given the show’s history. The question is, which hero’s eye could Vickie be catching.

Will Byers or Robin Buckley

As Season 3 ended, everyone was already in a relationship -- except Will Byers. The easy and obvious answer is that Vickie and Will could become a couple, meaning that everyone will have a significant other by the end of Season 4. However, that solution may not be that simple. After all, there are substantial rumors that Will is gay. While Noah Schnapp has been hesitant to confirm his character’s sexuality in either direction, it is certainly possible. If Will really is gay, he obviously won’t be interested in Vickie.

In that case, another option is that Vickie could be Robin's love interest. While working at Scoops Ahoy, she came out to Steve as a lesbian, so that is a legitimate option. Vickie and Robin are both in band, giving them some common interests. There is one major hang-up with this speculation, though. With the rumors of a time jump, Robin may have graduated. If that's true, Robin will not likely be spending any time at the high school.

Love Triangle Possibilities

Stranger Things - Dustin and Suzie

If Will and Robin are not options, then things get complicated because, as noted, Season 3 ended with everyone else already in a relationship. Unless one of the couples breaks up during a time jump, Vickie’s involvement could start a love triangle with one of the existing pairings. That would also be the perfect way to introduce classic relational drama necessary for any coming-of-age story, especially when characters get to high school. Three possible relationships could be getting a third wheel.

It’s probably fair to say that a love triangle won’t involve Mike. He has been smitten with Eleven for years, and “Mileven” just seems like too certain a thing, even with Eleven having moved away from Hawkins for now. Dustin and Lucas, on the other hand, could be possibilities. Lucas and Max felt like a slightly odd pairing in Season 3, so change could be coming for him. Suzie doesn’t live in Hawkins anyway, making it possible that Dustin encounters the difficulties of a long-distance relationship, which might open his eye to Vickie.

Stranger Things Season 4 will be released in two volumes, with the first premiering May 27, and the second on July 2, on Netflix.
