Stranger Things is officially returning to Netflix for a fourth season. The sci-fi/horror series has released an extended teaser hinting that the show's scope is growing even bigger.
Fresh off the recent confirmation that the series had been renewed for a fourth season as part of Netflix's new production deal with creators Matt and Ross Duffer, the show's social media accounts released the extended promo. It ends with the ominous tagline, "We're not in Hawkins anymore."
The teaser comes soon after the Netflix original series' various social media accounts updated their profile pictures to be an ominous clock set five minutes till midnight, as seen within the extra-dimensional Upside Down in the teaser. A potential reference to the Cold War, which heavily informed Season 3, the tagline hints that the upcoming season will extend its scope beyond its usual setting of Hawkins, Indiana.
Season 3 began and concluded within the Soviet Union, bringing the paranormal action to the global stage as the Soviets attempted to breach into the Upside Down themselves. With the latest teaser, the two conflicting nations may be staging their own returns to the monster-filled dimension.
