The third season of the Netflix horror/coming of age series Stranger Things is set to premiere this summer. However, while we don't know much about what kind of supernatural threats are coming to endanger the town of Hawkins this time, a new teaser for the show's return hints that whatever is coming is hungry.
The teaser follows a large pack of rats as they scurry out of the sunlight and make their way into a seemingly abandoned warehouse. The rodents then converge and approach a corner of the warehouse, disappearing into the darkness. Meanwhile, the accompanying text says that it's "almost feeding time, though it's unknown if that means the rats are hunting down their next meal, or if something is about to chow down on the rats.

Series Executive Producer Shawn Levy has claimed that this will be the darkest season of the critically acclaimed series yet, and that ominous army of rats hints that he may be right. Of course, we'll have to wait and see what new threats target the sleepy town of Hawkins when Stranger Things returns later this year.
Created by the Duffer Brothers, Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Natalie Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Priah Ferguson, Cary Elwes, Jake Busey and Maya Thurman-Hawke. Season 3 will debut on Netflix on July 4.
