In the wake of news that Netflix has renewed Stranger Things for a third season, star David Harbour has indicated fans will have to wait nearly two years for a third installment.
Harbour, who plays Chief Jim Hopper in the horror series, discussed the newly-announced third season of the show in an interview with Variety. While Netflix and showrunners the Duffer brothers are obviously keen to strike the iron while it's hot, it'll take time to develop another season. "One of the things that’s annoying for fans is that it takes us a long time to do them,” the actor explained. “Like, you probably won’t get [Season 3] until sometime in 2019."
"But also part of the thing is, like any good thing, they need time," he added, "And those guys work so hard. I mean, they just sit in their apartment and write for 12, 14 hours a day.” So while the series isn't expected to return any time soon, it's evident that the Duffer brothers are working hard on the script, and of course, it shouldn't be rushed!
Currently airing on Netflix, the second season of Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Cara Buono, Matthew Modine, Noah Schnapp, Joe Keery, Sadie Sink and Dacre Montgomery.
