Following a first look at the young cast of Netflix's "Stranger Things" during their first table read, a trio of new actors have been added to the cast. Sean Astin, Paul Reiser and Linnea Berthelsen will join the popular horror drama when it returns for more next year.

According to Netflix, Astin will play Bob Newby, a "kind-hearted former nerd" that went to high school with Joyce (Winona Ryde) and Hopper (David Harbour). He manages the Hawkins RadioShack. Reiser will play Dr. Owens, a "high-ranking member within the Department of Energy" that will be tasked with helping clean up Hawkins in the fallout of season one.

Danish actress Linnea Berthelsen will play an "emotionally damaged, magnetic young woman who suffered a great loss as a child." She also doesn't live in Hawkins, but still has a mysterious connection to the secret facility that opened the rift to the other dimension.

Similar to Ryder, who starred in 1988's "Beetlejuice," both Sean Astin and Paul Reiser have inextricable ties to the 1980s -- the decade within which "Stranger Things" is set. Astin is known for "The Goonies" while Reiser starred in "Aliens." Astin's also known for his roles in "Rudy" and as Samwise Gamgee in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. Reiser starred in the NBC sitcom "Mad About You" and can currently be seen in the Amazon series "Red Oaks."

As for official news about season two of “Stranger Things,” we do know for sure that -- spoielr alert -- Eleven will be back for more. Unfortunately, Barb won’t be back, although it looks like the case of the missing teen will still be a part of the show’s storyline moving forward. We also already know the episode titles of season two, thanks to a teaser video.

The second season of “Stranger Things” is slated for release in 2017 on Netflix.
