After the breakout first season of Stranger Things debuted on Netflix to become one of the network’s most popular original series, a second season was naturally fast-tracked. A poster and synopsis surfaced earlier this month, but now the second season’s trailer has arrived, promising that things are about to get even crazier for Eleven and company.

Backdropped by Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” the trailer picks up shortly after the earth-shattering events of the first season’s finale. Will Byers might have escaped the Upside Down, but he brought a piece of it back with him, as visions of his time spent trapped in the terrifying alternate reality haunt even his waking moments. Will sees the locales around him warped into a macabre showing of what is to come if the terrors that be have their way, so once again it’s up to the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana to save the day.

The first trailer for Stranger Things 2 is here. It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.

Returning October 27 on Netflix, Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Cara Buono, Joe Keery and Noah Schnapp.
