New set photos from Stranger Things have been revealed, confirming that Season 4 will take place in 1986.JustJared posted the set photos on its website, which feature several of the cast members exiting a video store. Posters in the store advertise Tom Hanks' The Man with One Red Shoe and Michael J. Fox's Teen Wolf, both of which debuted on home video in 1986. Production on Season 4 of Stranger Things resumed in mid-September. It halted in March due to concerns over the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. During the production hiatus, the writers' room completed scripting the entirety of Season 4.

While plot details about Season 4 have been scarce, several details have been revealed from behind-the-scenes photos and official teasers. Lucas will have a job at a Japanese-themed restaurant in Starcourt Mall, while Sheriff Hopper survived his apparent death in Season 3 and is now locked in a Russian prison camp.

Created by the Duffer Brothers, Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder, Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Priah Ferguson, Cary Elwes, Jake Busey and Maya Thurman-Hawke. Season 4 has yet to receive a release date.
