During the week of Stranger Things 4's premiere, Nielsen's top 10 series were Stranger Things with 7.2 billion minutes, Netflix'sThe Lincoln Lawyer with 966 million minutes, Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi with 958 million minutes, Prime Video's The Boys with 919 million minutes, Netflix's Ozark with 644 million minutes, Netflix's Wrong Side of the Tracks with 291 million minutes, Netflix's Grace and Frankie with 271 million minutes, Prime Video's Night Sky with 242 million minutes, Netflix's Workin' Moms with 215 million minutes, and Netflix's Floor is Lava with 214 million minutes.

Stranger Things star David Harbour, who has portrayed Jim Hopper in the show since its 2016 debut, also predicted a potential release window. "I think we'll [shoot] next year," he said. "They're finishing writing it this year, and they need to prep and stuff, so hopefully it'll be this year." He added, "it'd probably come out mid-2024, based on our track record."

Season 5, which will be the final season of Stranger Things, will likely take a darker approach to its ending. Co-creator Matt Duffer explained: "Usually at the end of a season, we tie things up with a nice bow, before a little tease that says, 'Hold on, something is unraveling.' As we move into Season 5, we don't have to do that. There won't be a reset from where we finish this season."

Seasons 1-4 of Stranger Things, which follows a group of kids and their attempts to protect their town of Hawkins, IN, from horrifying monsters, are currently available to stream on Netflix.
