Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown was close to exchanging Eleven for the number 23.
The 13-year-old actress revealed she audtioned to play Laura Kinney, aka X-23, in the X-Men spinoff Logan, a role that ultimately went to Dafne Keen.
“I was like, ‘It’s going to be amazing, I’m going to really prepare,’ and I sat in my room reading the lines,” Brown recalled to Variety. “Honestly, for me, I felt so — I felt an actor, in the audition room, hitting Hugh Jackman, and James Mangold sitting right in front of me.”
The process might sound familiar to those who saw Keen's screen test, which earned praise from co-stars Jackman and Patrick Stewart for the physicality the young actress brought to the audition. Brown similarly lauded Keen after witnessing her performance on screen. "I watched it; she was incredible,” Brown said. “It meant so much to me.”
Millie Bobby Brown can next be seen when Stranger Things returns to Netflix on Oct. 31. The series also stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Cara Buono, Joe Keery and Noah Schnapp.
