Stranger Things star Maya Hawke believes the Netflix series' cast should be a little smaller.

Hawke began binge-watching the first two seasons of Stranger Things after The Duffer Brothers cast her as Robin Buckley in Season 3. First known as simply Steve Harrington's co-worker at Scoops Ahoy, Robin quickly became one of his closest friends and a vital asset to the group. Robin managed to survive Vecna's wrath in the newest season, but others weren't so lucky. Hawke was asked if she believed Eddie deserved his fate for a lie detector test interview with Vanity Fair. "I don’t think he should’ve died, but I do think the show has too many characters," Hawke said.

Camila Mendes asked the 24-year-old actor several questions in promotion of their upcoming film -- Do Revenge. "He didn't deserve to go," Mendes disappointedly said after the question spoiled Season 4 Volume 2 for her. "Is there anyone else you think should have died in Season 4?" Mendes asked. Hawke responded that she believed more people should have died, but wouldn't disclose which characters. "Yes or no questions," the actor repeatedly said.

Maya Hawke Thinks It's Time for Robin to Die

The actor previously declared her hopes of wanting Robin to die a heroic death in Season 5, Stranger Things' last season. "I would love to die and get my hero's moment," Hawke revealed. However, she is appreciative of how The Duffer Brothers treat their characters. "The reason that they write so beautifully for me and for everyone else is because they fall in love with their actors and their characters, and they don't want to kill them," Hawke said. It doesn't sound like a Game of Thrones "Red Wedding" episode is in the future of the Netflix series.

Despite Hawke's touching words about Stranger Things' showrunners, The Duffer Brothers killed off several characters quickly after introducing them. Examples of characters subject to short-lived appearances include Bob Newby (Sean Astin) in Season 2 and Alexei (Alec Utgotff) in Season 3. Of course, fans will never forget Eddie's tragic fate in Season 4. Unfortunately, executive producer Shawn Levy revealed that a future Eddie cameo in Season 5 would be unlikely.

Even if Robin meets her demise in Season 5, Hawke shared her hopes about a potential spinoff following Steve and Robin's friendship. "I wouldn't really be a proponent of a spinoff, but if I got to do it with Joe Keery, I would do anything," Hawke said of her co-star. "He's so funny and wonderful and smart, and he's got great boundaries. He's an excellent coworker, and I would do anything with him."

All four seasons of Stranger Things are available to stream on Netflix.
