Max Stranger Things

Sadie Sink's Max Mayfield will get her own backstory in the form of a Stranger Things prequel novel that will be released a month before the show's Season 3 premiere on July 4.

Stranger Things: Runaway Max, from writer Brenna Yovanoff, will be released on June 4 from  Random House and will focus on why Max came to the fictional, haunted town of Hawkins, Indiana -- the backdrop for the popular Netflix series. Last season, Max and her brother Billy Hargrove (Dacre Montgomery) showed up and caused chaos, with Max befriending the teenage gang of monster-hunters, and Billy serving as an antagonist.
