Joseph Quinn, who plays Eddie Munson in Season 4 of Netflix's Stranger Things, has canceled his appearance at German Comic Con.

The event's official Instagram account posted that the English actor's event was canceled due to a passport issue. As the announcement translates (via Google), "Guys - we'll make it short and painless now because you just can't sugarcoat this disaster: Unfortunately, JOSEPH QUINN can't take part in the GCC LTD Edition because a few days ago he had to hand in his passport to the UK authorities for a USA work visa, and this one, according to the current status, will only be returned ON MONDAY. And he cannot enter Germany without a PASS!"

As the post adds, "Joseph is also extremely sad that he has to disappoint us all at such short notice." It further explains that the event managers are working with Quinn's team to see when he can make up for the missed visit. They added that anyone who purchased a ticket with the hopes of seeing the actor is eligible for a refund.

Eddie Munson was a clear breakout fan-favorite on Season 4 of Stranger Things. Of portraying the character, Quinn said "it was very gratifying." He added "I think there's a lot of devotion towards the show, from the fans, and the characters that inhabit it. I think I was a little daunted joining and kind of worried that when you're a new cog in the machine, you don't want to be the thing that kind of brings it to its knees and ruins everything. So I was very relieved that people were so gracious and welcoming to Eddie. It's a lovely feeling."

Quinn, who made his first big splash in TV in HBO's Game of Thrones in his role as Leonard Bast, is unlikely to return for Season 5 of Stranger Things since his character was seemingly written off the show. But that doesn't mean Quinn isn't keeping busy. He has a new film currently in post-production called Hoard, directed by Luna Carmoon.

Stranger Things Season 4 is streaming now on Netflix. Its fifth and final season might be right around the corner, with star David Harbour recently estimating "mid-2024, based on our track record."
